Expos Victorious Over Cloverdale Thanks To Solid Pitching
Posted March 19, 2016
The Expos were still without 5 of their rostered players on this day but looked sharp nonetheless in this 9 inning exhibition game vs. Cloverdale. Vancouver's pitching was lights out with all 5 pitchers combining to rack up 15 K's, managing to strike out the side twice throughout the game. The boys jumped out to an early lead thanks to some timely hitting and miscues by the Spurs defence, ballgame was definitely closer than the score indiciated; Cloverdale relied on solid pitching and defence to keep them within reach. Howse was quite the standout today recording a solid 2 hits and a sacfly, he accompanied that by pitching 2 scoreless innings. Hutchings, Ellis, Woo and Domingo also had strong outings as all pitchers allowed only 6 free passes (BB or HBP) in 9 innings. Domingo gutted out 7 innings behind the dish, he called a good game and even managed to throw out a baserunner at second. Overall, the boys played well and will try to carry their momentum into Sunday's DH vs. Delta.
