Parents/Players:

We are coming to the end of our fundraiser, so take a moment to read this email to the end.

Deadline Extension:  Because we are dealing with fresh fruit that has a growing season, I could only get an extension until Monday.  Here are your options for getting your orders to me:

  1.  I will be at the Ridgefield game tomorrow at Louis Bloch Park.

  2.  I will be at WHS on Saturday for a team selling event.  Every player that is not jetting away for spring break needs to come by the high school for a 2 hour door-to-door session.  This is a 2 hour "git-er-done" event so we can finish strong.   More information is below.

  3.  You can bring your order forms and checks to my house on Monday before noon.  All checks should be made out to WHS.

Saturday Selling Event:  Be at WHS at 9:30  - we will canvas the neighborhoods from 10 to noon.  Come wearing your baseball jersey, hats, and a nice pair of jeans or shorts.  No holes!  You need to look professional!

Players - please review and learn the following script  before Saturday:

"My name is [name] and I am with Washougal High School Baseball. We are selling 20lb gift boxes of California Navel Oranges or Texas Rio Star Grapefruit for $30 each to raise money for equipment and uniforms. This comes out to $1.50 a pound which is in the ball park with what you pay at the grocery store. You can’t find this size or quality in the stores right now. Should I put you down for 1 box of each?"

Parents, we will need your help as well if your player is not able to drive themselves.  I will have neighborhood maps available and players will go in groups of two or three.  There will also be a prize for the group that sells the most boxes!

This can be a fun team experience, but only if everyone has a good attitude.   You might not see yourself in a sales career in the future, but this is a skill that will serve you well the rest of your life!

Social Media:  I have attached a photo that you can use in your social media.  Remember, we can only deliver locally, so please don't take orders from Grandma in Montana unless you can deliver there.

Also remember, social media should never be your only means of selling.  Face to Face or over the phone will always be more effective than a Facebook post.  It is easy to say no to the computer but a lot harder to say no to that sweet young man standing at your door!

Instructional Videos:  Here are a couple of videos that your player should watch.  It will give them the idea of what we are going to do on Saturday.

Delivery:  Delivery will be on either April 11 or 12.  We will have a location where players can pick up their boxes for delivery.

Thank you for your participation.

Jennie Brown
