In Game Two of the District 7B tournament, the #4 seeded Vermillion Greysox downed the #5 Canton Aces 4-0.  Jamie Jorgensen pitched a complete game two hitter for the Sox, while striking out 11 on the night and only allowing only one walk.  There were only two innings all night that the Aces got four men to the plate.

Canton’s two hits came in the top of the second when Thad Meister led off the inning with a double to the right field fence.  The only other hit was again a double, this time in the top of the six courtesy of Jake Roskam.

Vermillion would take the lead right away in the bottom of the first inning.  The leadoff man for the Sox, Jayce Huska, was walked.  Once on, Huska notched one of his two stolen bases on the evening, reached third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch.  Huska ended the evening 1-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI.

The Greysox offense scatter six hits all night, thanks to Huska, Jon Merrigan, Jack Brown, Mike Moran, Mitchel Brown, and Grant Lueders.

With the victory, the Greysox earned a trip to the 7B semifinals Sunday, July 24 at 4:00 where they will face the top seeded Larchwood Diamonds.  Canton plays in an elimination game today at 6:00pm against the Beresford Blues.
