Three Rivers Drop 2 at Mid-Valley

After an impressive win at home last night against the Rockets, Three Rivers traveled to Albany to complete their league series match up and dropped both games. In game #1 Mid Valley put the game away in the bottom of the 8th inning when the Sandblasters allowed 8 runs on 4 errors as the Rockets went on to win 15-11. Offensively, Three Rivers were lead by Joe Hixenbaugh who was 3/4 with 2 doubles and Jonathon Bennison who hit a 2 run home run. While game 1 was riddled by errors by both teams, game 2 turned into a slugfest as each team committed only 2 errors . Mid-Valley won 14-10 on 16 hits to the Sandblasters 12 hits. Ken Thrall was 3/4 while Brad Snow and Bennison added 2 hits apiece. The losses drop the Sandblasters to 4th place in league standings. They are off to Seattle for 5 games in the Mickey Merriam Tournament, starting tomorrow. They return to league play on July 7th with the DeMarini Dirtbags at Western Oregon University, followed by a DH here with the Dirtbags on the 8th.
