Rockets Take Provincial Championship

The Reston Rockets are Senior A Provincial Champions.  The Rockets finished the tournament's round robin in 2nd place, defeating Wawanesa (who dropped all three of their games) 10-0, topping Ebb and Flow 20-2 before dropping their lone game to host Clearwater 19-11.  That finish was good enough to set up a rematch in the final with Clearwater, where the Rockets got their revenge and the provincial title with a 3-1 win.

Elsewhere provincial weekend, the SWBL was well represented at the AA Provincial tournamnet held in Neepawa.  Both the Boissevain Centennials and Hamiota Red Sox went 2-1 in the round-robin, which advanced both teams to the semi-finals of the 8-team tournament.  Boissevain bowed out 2-1 to to Morden in those semi-finals, while Hamiota advanced to the final with a 10-7 win over Cartwright.  Once again, Morden was the thorn in the SWBL side, as they defeated the Red Sox 2-1 to claim the AA title.
