WRAP UP OF FOUR DAYS IN ROSALIND FOR BRAVES

The Tofield Braves completed a four day stint in the village of Rosalind on Sunday, after a Powerline Baseball League game on Thursday followed by the Rosalind Athletics Tournament over the weekend.

Thursday June 23 - Tofield Braves (5) at Rosalind Athletics (9)

For the third time this season the Tofield Braves would lose to the Athletics and for the second time this season the Athletics would use a pair of home runs to power them to victory. While not much is known about the game due to a lack of information from the tough loss, it was a pair of home runs from Athletics Brayden Bensen and Josh Burnstad that would be the undoing of the Braves who once again jumped out to an early first inning lead before letting Rosalind storm back for the win. The Braves finish the 2017 regular season schedule against the Athletics 0-3 and being outscored 19-12 in the process.

Friday June 24 - Tofield Braves vs Rosalind Old Timers

The Old Timers would walk off the Braves as Powerline Baseball League Hall of Famer, Ray Lehman would play aweinspiring defence at short stop and score the winning run on a hit run. Lehman would score all the way from first base a la Ken Griffey Jr in 1995 on a ball that was laced over the head of new to the outfield Joe Pasychnyk. The Camrose Axemen first baseman by trade was unable to get to the ball and get it back in before the speedy Lehman would score. Again, not many details are known about the game or what the score was but it meant that the Braves would now play on Sunday against the loser of the Spring Lake Lakers and the Camrose Roadrunners.

Saturday June 25

Any of the Braves that pulled their trailer out to the Rosalind Recreation Grounds on Friday night got to spend a day taking in the Athletics tournament. Teams in the tournament included the Braves, the Rosalind Old Timers, Spring Laker Lakers, Camrose Roadrunners, Edmonton Primeaus, Cold Lake Cardinals and the host Rosalind Athletics.

Sunday June 26 - Tofield Braves vs Camrose Roadrunners

The Braves would square off against the Camrose Roadrunners, team that they are scheduled to play on Tueday June 27 in Powerline Baseball League action. The Roadrunners were in the consolation game after a 14-0 loss to the Spring Lake Lakers the day before. We are somewhat confident that the game was played but as for what happened.....no information was provided.

**Story Update** - The Braves did not play their game versus the Camrose Roadrunners due to a lack of players.

Next up for the Braves will be a return to their Powerline Baseball League schedule as they take on the Camrose Roadrunners on Tuesday June 27 in Camrose. Tofield currently sits in fourth place at 5-4 while the Roadrunners trail them by a game and a half at 3-5. The Powerline Baseball League is currently sitting at a total of eleven games that are in need to be made up due to a spring of wet weather across the area and it is unlikely the league will be completed before August unless teams get creative with their scheduling.
