Program Emphasis/Expectations: The Runnin Royal travel basketball teams are devoted to developing the skills of individual players with the collective goal of team success. Success is not only measured by wins and losses, but is expected that coaches and players try to be competitive in all tournaments and games. Competing is one aspect of the program but more importantly representing ourselves, our families, and our teams is more important with sportsmanship and class. Character development is a main priority while being a part of the Runnin Royals organization.

Team Practice: The goal for each team is to have two (2) 75-minute practices a week. When available there will also be skills development/performance training sessions on some Saturdays or Sunday evenings. We would like to include at least 4 to 5 of these sessions throughout the season.

Playing Time: While coaches strive to give all players adequate playing time, playing time is not guaranteed on the travel basketball teams. Level of playing is determined by the coaches based on overall performance in practice and games, attitude, and the ability to comply with team rules and regulations. It's our belief that all members of the roster are equally important and play a key role in the success of our teams. Players should expect to be treated equally, but this does not guarantee playing time to be equal.

Participation Fees: I am not asking for any cost to the parents to be a part of the Runnin Royal family. Donations are welcomed if that is what you desire to do but as last year I will be putting money towards the program and getting local businesses to see if they can sponsor us as well.

Competing Age Groups:

16U/10th Grade Division (unless all 9th graders are on the team)

14U/8th Grade Division

13U/7th Grade Division

Documents Needed:

  1. Copy of Birth Certificate - Needed to be able to compete in National qualifiers as well as the National tournaments.
  2. School Transcript/Report Card - Needed as a second document to compete in National qualifiers/National Tournament/Exposure Tournaments
  3. Any Medical Conditions - Needed to be able to monitor the players when competing in games/practices. We do not want to see anything but good things happen to the players.
