Pirates 9 Buffalos 8

The Pirates ended a busy three-game week with a big win against the Regina Buffalos.  The Pirates lost their first game of the season against the Regina White Sox on Monday, but started a new winning streak with a win in Weyburn against the Beavers the next night.  Last night's game was highlighted by another strong pitching performance by Owen Minchuk, who only allowed three earned runs over 5 1/3 innings of work.  He then cancelled those out runs against by tallying three RBIs at the plate for the Pirates.  Davis Fry also had a strong night at the plate with a couple hits and RBIs as well.  The win was closed out by some gutsy pitching by both an ailing Blake Heward and Logen Hammett, who recorded the final out to seal the victory.  The Pirates have a well-deserved weekend off before hosting the White Butte Broncos on Tuesday night at Columbus Park.
