Pirates sweep twin bill against the Tornadoes at Kaplan

The Estevan Tornadoes were in town for a twilight double header under the lights at Kaplan Field on Saturday. It was Estevan's first two games of the season, while the Pirates were coming in with a 2-0-1 record. In the first game, the Pirates jumped out to a quick lead, scoring 8 in the bottom of the first and then 5 more in the third and three in the fourth to coast to a 16-4 victory. Logen Hammett and Jackson Smith combined for the win. Wyatt Mohr was 3/3 for the home side, while Matt Schoepp knocked home 4 runs. In game 2, Mohr started for the Pirates and breezed through four innings of work, striking out nine and not allowing a hit. Ben Klein chipped in for 3 RBIs at the plate, going 2/3. The wins put the Pirates in first place with a 4-0-1 record.
