A Fine Import: Senior Catcher Jake Elder
Posted May 27, 2015
I came across this article about North Delta Blue Jays alumnus Jake Elder ('02) published in 2005 as he entered his senior year with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Jake had a great career at Minnesota where he lettered for all four seasons, was the team MVP in 2005, and helped his team win three Big Ten league championships before being drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In the article Jakes' coach talks about how well prepared Jake was when he arrived at Minnsota and how his work ethic and desire to learn made him an exceptional player. The Blue Jays are fortunate that Jake has returned to BC and contributes to our program. Jake is a tremendous example and a resource for young players who wish to pursue a college baseball career to learn from and emulate.
