Tribe Takes Two
Posted August 18, 2017
The Morden Mohawks took a 2-0 series lead with a 9-0 win over the Pilot Mound Pilots in game two of the Border West Baseball League Finals on Thursday night. Steve Mullin got the offense going in the bottom of the first inning with a single that drove in two runs. That would prove to be all the Mohawks starter Derek Holenski would need as he threw his first shutout of the season. Chris Moffatt added a couple insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homerun over the ivy in right-center. The floodgates opened in the sixth as the Tribe added five more runs to make the final 9-0. Anthony Friesen took the loss on the hill for the Pilots.
The teams will head back to Pilot Mound for game three of the series on Saturday evening. First pitch is 6pm.
