Royals Split last league games

We lost to the Dodgers 4-3 on Friday. Thomas Lessmeister was the hard luck losing pitcher throwing five strong with Eric Bollefer finishing the game off. Our offense was bad managing only six hits and the defense made a couple errors. Our pitchers deserved better.
We then beat the Diggers 11-1 behind another complete game from Nick Anderson. The offense belted out 15 hits with Adam Gerwing leading the way with four. It was a good way to end the regular season.
We are waiting on tonight's game between the Guns and Stallions to see if we finish second or third. If the Guns win, we will get third place. If they lose, we finish second. Either way, we play them in the first round of provincials which aren't scheduled to start until August 22nd. Our young guys have taken over the team for the playoffs as most of our older players are out of province on trips or work commitments. Playoffs were orginally supposed to be done this week, however, they have been pushed back, therefore many of us cannot make the first round. It's great to see our young players stepping up and taking control of the team! Great job fellas!
