Royals bats silent at Westerns
Posted August 24, 2015
The Royals went into Westerns with high expectations and came back without a win. Despite playing very well defensively and getting outstanding pitching the boys could not get anything rolling on offense to scratch out a couple wins. The Royals lost 4-3 to Regina in twelve innings, 1-0 to Calgary, and 2-1 to the host Baldur team. Their fourth and final round robin game was rained out and not played because it had no bearing on the standings whatsoever. Dean Jaeb and Eric Bollefer pitched a great game against Regina, Kris Keating threw a gem against Calgary, and Colin Bauml and Mathew Strueby shut down Baldur. Congratulations to the host Baldur Regals for winning the title and a big thank you to all involved in putting on a very well run Western Canadian Baseball Championship.
The Royals next action is Wednesday at 6:30 against the Guns. This game will determine first place overall.
