Royals heading to league final once again
Posted August 27, 2014
The Royals took on the Blue Jays last night in the first round of playoffs and came away with a 2 games to none sweep. The first game saw the Dean Jaeb and Josh Cote locked in a pitchers duel. The Royals were able to push three across in the third inning and that was all Dean would need as he shut out the Jays pitching a complete game. Luke Strueby had a pair of hits to pace the offense.
Game 2 saw the Royals offense wake up as they scored eleven runs lead by a Curtis Strueby and Luke Strueby who both had a pair of hits. Paul Strueby was solid in the mound throwing a complete game shutout.
The Royals now advance to the league final for the fourth time in five years (the only year we didn't was last year when we dropped out of league playoffs because of lack of players) which begins next Tuesday September 2nd with a doubleheader in Saskatoon. Games three and four (if necessary) are Wednesday and game five (if necessary) is Thursday. Who the Royals play is yet to be determined. If anyone wants to play let us know. We still aren't sure if we have nine.
