Lennox used a combination of solid defense with very effective offense to defeat Turner/ Hutchinson 9-2.
Lennox played host to an out of Region opponent, the Turner Hutchinson Dirt Dogs. Lennox threw sophomore Brock Anderson who threw 3 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 5.
Lennox's surge of offense was sparked in the 2nd inning. The inning featured a few big plays including Devon Jongeling's single. Other big plays were Ray Williams RBI walk and Camden Wulf's big 2 RBI single to open a 5-0 lead. Dirt Dogs' senior Preston Gall would add a run back with a solo homerun to left field in the 3rd.
Lennox would later pick up 3 runs in the 4th along with 1 in the 6th to finalize a 9-2 win. JD Kirchner had an inning in relief only giving up one run and striking out 2. Braedon Wallenstein would throw the other 3 innings for LHS allowing 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 6.
Lennox put together 6 hits in the game while only having 1 error. The Orioles used the 6 hits and took advantage of 8 Dirt Dog errors to work their way to the final score win of 9 to 2.
The Orioles take 8 days off as they'll be plenty rested to host Canton on the 21st. Lennox will look to continue their success against another Region 3 rival.
