Week 6 was a fun one!

Week 6 was a lot of fun for the league!

In the 6PM game the AA Riverdogs overcame Team Red in 5.5 innings 9-6. Our thanks to the Riverdogs for being a big part of our successful regular season. We hope to see the club out with us again next year.

We had our big showdown during the 7PM game, Navy home to first place Grey. The game was tight until Navy blew it open in the bottom of the 5th with 8 runs, going up 12-3. Showing resiliency Grey pushed back with 3 runs in the top of the 6th. Bill Woodruff shut down Navy's bats in the bottom half before a strong 2 our rally in the top of the 7th. Grey came up just short scoring five runs, losing for the first time this season 12-11.

As the AA Riverdogs are not eligible for the Men's AA Provincial Championship tournament (age), the playoff at the end of the season will be seeded between the standings for Teams Red, Navy, and Grey.

Season results, and tiebreaker breakdown/explanation is detailed below.

Tie breakers in the seeding will first be the team's overall run differential through the season, followed by the record between the two teams.*this was the tiebreaker rule written before our season began* (Grey's overall run differential through the regular season was +36 to Navy Blue's +17, counting 7 runs in either forfeit win)

*The League Executive made a decision to seed and operate our playoffs by the BC Amateur Baseball Association rules, including tie-breakers.*

Tiebreaker Priority #1:
The team with the best win-loss record in the game(s) between or among the tied teams will place higher in the standings.

(Grey and Navy Blue each won one game and lost one game)

Tiebreaker Priority #2:
If the tie still persists, the placement of teams will be determined by the ratio of number of runs allowed per defensive inning for games between or among the original tied teams.

(Grey and Navy Blue each played 13 defensive innings, both games decided in the top of the 7th. Grey surrendered 28 runs against Navy, an average of 2.15 runs per inning. Navy Blue surrendered 31 runs against Grey, an average of 2.38.)

In either tiebreaker situation, as written before the season started or using the BC Amateur Baseball Association rules, Team Grey holds first place and a bye into the Finals as the home team on August 22nd.

Navy will be home team in the semi finals vs Team Red, as the Riverdogs are ineligible for the AA Men's Provincial Championships.

The winner of the championship game will earn a berth into the AA Men's Provincial Championships in North Vancouver! As agreed upon by tournament organizers, the winning team from Kamloops can pick up 4 eligible players from within the league.

Good luck in the playoffs!

Schedule is updated, including week 6 results.
