Hector rallies in the 7th to pull off the win against Eden Valley-Watkins

Hector gets back on the winning track, but needed a late game rally to secure a victory in Eden Valley on Thursday night.

Hector scored in the first inning when Ryan Haun and Taylor Broderious led off the game with back to back walks. Ben Maiers doubled in both runners. The score remained 2-0 until Eden Valley-Watkins took advantage of two Hector errors in the fifth inning to tie up the score 2-2.

In the 7^th, Taylor Broderious and Ben Maiers led off the inning back to back singles, and Tyler Pagenkopf loaded the bases when he drew a walk. Tate Lange came up with the big base hit and drove in two runs. Dylan Kalenberg later drove in another run later in the inning when he singled.

That was enough run support for Haun, who pitched all seven innings, allowing only 1 earned run in the game. Haun scattered 6 hits and struck out 6.

At the plate, Maiers went 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s, Lange went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s, Broderious went 2-3, Kalenberg went 1-3 with an RBI.

With the win, Hector improves to 3-1 on the season.

Hector travels to Atwater on Monday to play Tri-town, also known as ACGC.
