Champlin Bests Cologne
Posted May 31, 2017
Class B Champlin came out to Cologne last night for a chilly non-league game. Cologne used the game as a way to test a few of their new young pitchers: Zach Nelson got the start and went four innings, Tim Patterson threw 1-1/3 and Gavin Celichowski threw 1-2/3. Overall, all three pitchers threw decent, but as expected had their moments to shake out some old cobwebs. The Gators took advantage of their free bases and didn't help out the Cologne arms as they scored ten runs off of thirteen hits. Things weren't much better on the offensive side for Cologne as they could only get four hits off of Champlin's pitchers. Tanner Luebke got two hits in the game while Casey Clemensen and Gavin both added one hit.
The boys return to Fritz Field tonight (Wednesday May 31st) to resume league play as they host the Plato Bluejays at 7:30pm.
Ga Hollandes!
