Girls play hard & finish 7th, Boys heading to STATE!!!
Posted April 15, 2016
After Day 1, the girls were only 3 strokes off of the advancing 3rd place spot. We did not have a good start on the the front 9 but the girls battled to get back in it. Kathleen Escobar in her first region tournament went one over on the back. We finished day 1 with a 324. Day 2 just wasn't our day. The girls never gave up and played hard up until the very last putt. We finished in 7th place. They had a great season. We are going to miss our senior girls but look forward to their future in college and beyond. GOOD JOB COUGARS!

The Boys came ready to play on Wednesday. We fired a 297 on Day 1. Our last golfer on the course (Cade Kiser) went Eagle, Birdie on the last two holes with all the teams around the green watching. It was intense! We were in 2nd by 3 strokes at the end of Day 1 and there were 5 teams within 7 strokes of us. We knew other teams were gunning for us and we had to play our best on Day 2. On Day 2 Will Speer and Lorenzo Siboro provided exactly what we needed. With all that pressure, they shot their lowest high school rounds ever! We got second by 3 strokes. The two teams that tied for 3rd play had to go to a sudden death playoff for the chance to go to State (we did not want any part of a playoff). We were one of two teams that did not have a score in the 80's both days. We shot the lowest 2 day total of the year! WAY TO GO COUGARS!!! We will be heading into state as the Regional runner up.
