The Girls win Concan by 19 strokes on Nov. 7-8.  The tournament had over 30 teams from around the state of Texas.  The girls had a 4 shot lead after day one.  Maddie Luitwieler shot an open round 67 to lead the tournament by 4 strokes also.  On day 2,  Junior Madison Goldblum shot a 75 to lead the Cougars to victory.  The Cougars only had 4 players on day two, and still opened up their lead from 4 strokes to 19 for the victory.  Alexis Kollmansberger shot 78, Katy Rutherford shot 79, and Sara Kelley shot 81 on a very hard course on a very windy day.  Way to go Cougars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The CRHS Boys and Girls Varsity teams began the 2014-2015 season on October 3-4, 2014 at River Ridge GC.  The CRHS Girls finished in 2nd place out of 12 teams with a fine 307-308 score.  The Clements girls won first place with a 304-302 as Amber Wang shot a 71-66 for first place.  Congratulations to Clements on a great tournament score.  The CRHS Cougars 2nd place finish was 23 strokes ahead of 3rd place Travis who shot 322-316.  CRHS Senior Maddie Luitwieler finished in 4th place individually with a 77-73.  Maddie is committed to the University of Texas in Austin.  Junior Katy Rutherford also had a great tournament as she finished in 7th place with a 74-79, and Senior Sara Kelley finished in 10th place with a 77-78 as three CRHS golfers finished in the top ten.  Two other CRHS girls shot in the 70's as Senior Alexis Kollmansberger, a future college golfer currently being recruited, shot a 79-82, and Junior Madison Goldblum shot a 84-78 for her career high school low round.  Madison won player of the week for the Cougars.  Sophomore Sarah Zimmerle added a 87 as a newcomer to the course as a move-in from Charlotte, NC.  Senior Samantha Swanson added a 88 to begin her senior season.  Other new to varsity golfers were Junior Gillian Predmore and Junior Emily Bae who played in their first CRHS varsity event and did a great job of grinding it out.  Once again the Clements girls and the Cinco Ranch girls should have a great battle on hand this year for the Region Championship as they have for the past few years.  The CRHS girls next tournament is hosted by the San Antonio Northside ISD schools and will be played at Concan CC on November 7-8.  The girls then finish out the fall with the CRHS hosted Fall Region Preview at Eagle Pointe on November 14-15.  The CRHS Boys also started the year at River Ridge on October 3-4.  The boys played tough in the tournament as they were missing returning top 5 player Senior Kyle Rogers with a back injury.  The boys finished 5th out of 18 teams for a good showing to begin the year.  The boys shot 319-317 and were disappointed, but they have a great year ahead of them as they will be very competitive for the year.  Sophomore Jared Bray finished in 9th place for the tournament for the Cougars with a 78-76, and Junior Conor Watkins finished in 11th place with a 78-78.  Sophomore Cade Kiser shot 77-82.  Other low scores were:  Sophomore Lorenzo Siboro 80-81, Sophomore Jamie Rogers 81, Juniors Will Speer and Junior Blake Spier with 83's, Senior Kyle Engel 85, and Juniors Kellen Mayes and Ryan Phelps with 86's.  The Cougar Boys play next at the Brazoswood Sausage Open for the 2nd Team on October 27th, and then the 1st Team plays at the CRHS hosted Fall Region Preview at Eagle Pointe on November 14-15.  The boys will finished out the fall semester at the Redstone PGA Tournament Course at the Dick Harmon Memorial on December 12-13.
