Girls Win at Eagle Pointe GC on October 14-15, 2013 with a 299-303!!

The CRHS Varsity Girls Golf Team won at Eagle Pointe GC on October 14-15.  The Lady Cougars shot 299-303 (602) to beat Kingwood Park by 4 shots.  Kingwood Park shot a great score of 305-301 (606) to finish in second place.  Kingwood Park overtook the Cougars on day 2 with their first 3 scores finishing first at 72-72-73, however Cinco Ranch's Alexis Kollmansberger came in with the final CRHS score of the day with a 72 to beat her Kingwood Park opponent by 12 strokes.  Seven Lakes HS shot 318-318 (636) to finish in third place 34 strokes behind Cinco Ranch.  It was great experience for the girls to learn the Eagle Pointe GC where Regionals are held in April.  It has been a great start to the year for the Cougars.  The Lady Cougars have now shot 301-294-299-303 to start the year.  They have won a second place trophy and a first place trophy in their first two tournaments of the year!

The outstanding scores for the Cougars were:  Soph. Katy Rutherford 71-76; Junior Alexis Kollmansberger 77-72; Senior Kennedy Ishee 75-77; Junior Maddie Luitwieler 76-78; Junior Sara Kelley 77-89; Sophomore Madison Goldblum 84-82; Junior Sarah Yi 88-87; and Junior Samantha Swanson 96-102.  The top 4 scores count for the team score in team scoring.  Way to go Cougars!!!!

The Lady Cougars next will defend their championship at the Cinco Ranch HS Region Fall Preview at Eagle Pointe on Nov. 22-23 against the best teams in Region III-5A.  Good luck and keep working hard to improve!
