Supers Split First Two Playoff Games

Monday July 11: Canora Supers 13 Langenburg Legends 4
The Supers finished first in the SESBL regular season standings, drawing a first round matchup witht the Langenburg Legends in a best of three semi final series. Things got off to a great start game one in Canora as the Supers pumped out sixteen hits, while pitcher Kody Rock threw a complete game gem for a 13-4 victory.
Rock tossed seven innings, while allowing just four hits and four runs (all unearned) with nine strikeouts to pick up the win.
The bats were in fine form as seven Supers each recorded two hits (Rock, Derek Palagian, Travis Mentanko, Kholton Shewchuk, Brendon Landstad, Ian Quewezance and Jeff Stewart). Rock and Phil Sobkow each hit a home run. The game was blown open in the bottom of the fifth as the Supers scored five to put the game out of reach.
Tuesday July 12: Langenburg Legends 12 Supers 6
The Supers looked to close out the series the next night in Langenburg. However the Legends had other plans as they had eighteen hits in a 12-6 victory to tie the series at 1-1.
Scoreless after two complete, the Supers rallied for three in the top of the third. However the wheels fell off as the Legends put up five runs in the third, and six in the fourth to thwart the Supers comeback attempt.
Travis Mentanko drilled a three run fome run and had a two run single to tally five rbi on the night. Derek Palagian was three for three at the plate with three singles. However the offence just couldn't get much more going on this evening.
Kholton Shewchuk took the loss, going three innings allowing five runs. Tanner Denesowych pitched one inning, while Shae Peterson finished off the final two.
With the loss the best of three series is tied 1-1. The deciding game will be on Wednesday, July 20 at 6:15 PM in Canora. The winner advances to the league final to face the Yorkton Marlins who defeated the Parkland Pirates in the other series
