Posted June 2, 2018
On Wednesday, May 30 the Supers took on the Yorkton Orioles at Jubilee Park in Yorkton. Although Supers starting pitcher Derek Palagian gave up eleven hits, he was able to strand plenty of baserunners while striking out eight and walking only one on route to a complete game 7-2 victory.
The Supers had nine hits of their own, two each by Palagian, Terry Cumming and Ian Quewezance. Evan Rostotski, Greg Andreychuk and Darcy Blommaert each had one hit apiece. The offence scored one in the 2nd, two in the 3rd, one in the 5th and three in the sixth to supply plenty of run support.
Defensively shortstop Ian Quewezance led the way with a couple great plays to keep the Orioles off the scoreboard as he continues to play well in the field.
With the win the Supers evened their record to 3-3 on the season. The Supers were set to host the Back Forty Brewers on Friday June 1st, and Grandview on Saturday June 2nd but both games were rained out
