Supers Even Record at 1-1

Posted May 21, 2018

After a tough opening day loss to the Yorkton Yankees, the Supers were back in action Wednesday. May 16 as they hosted the always tough Willowbrook Royals. The Royals bats came out strong with two runs in the top of the first, but the Supers replied and then some with eight runs in the bottom half to take an 8-2 lead. The teams traded a few more runs from that point on and the game was eventually called after 6 innings due to darkness with a 13-7 Supers victory.

Fourteen hits and a few costly Royals errors propelled the Supers to their thirteen runs crossing home plate. Adam Korb and Derek Palagian each had three hits, while Ian Quewezance, Evan Rostotski and Sean Kolodziejski had two hits apiece. Greg Andreychuk had an rbi double while Matt Wilgosh had a 2 rbi single to round out the attack

Palagian was the starting pitcher throwing four innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and five strikeouts to pick up the win. Korb pitched the final two innings allowing six hits, two strikeouts and two earned runs to finish off the game.

With the win the Supers improved to 1-1 on the season. Their next game is on Thursday, May 24 in Yorkton at 8PM against the Parkland Padres.
