Offense Firing On All Cyclinders, Wolfpack Win 24-12
Posted May 29, 2018
The second and final game of the Brewers series ended in blowout fashion as the Wolfpack drew walks and used timely hits to hang twenty-four runs on the Brewers to sweep the season series with them.
Christian Lapointe (1-0) started on the mound for the Pack and was off to a good start before running into trouble in the third inning. Michael Goldade came on in relief and got the final out of the third to escape the jame before providing two more innings of shutout relief to earn his first victory of the year. Andrew Lee cleaned up the final two innings to lock up the save.
All but one of the Wolfpack hitters collected a hit in this game, and Carlos Charmell led the way with three hits while also scoring four runs and knocking in four runs. He is now slashing .611/.692/.944 and leads the team in RBI and trails Brendan Roworth by one for the team lead in Runs Scored as well. Early polls have Charmell running away with the Wolfpack's Silver Slugger award.
The Pack take on the Calgary Giants in another tough mid-week contest on Wednesday night at 6:30pm.
