Baseball Gods Giveth, and they taketh away

Posted July 17, 2020

We were given a win last week, gave one away this week...that's baseball. Gotta give the boys credit, they smashed the ball all over the yard tonight, outhitting the Dbacks 14-8, but one big inning, with a ton of walks and a handful of squibbs and bleeders was our undoing on this night.  We lost this one 12-11.

Starter Mitch Dennis surrendered only 3 hits, but walks were the issue on this night as the control was just slightly off, combined with some very shoddy throws on defence...and that ws that. Kade came in, and continued the bleeder trend, tough luck quite frankly, followed by Campo who channeled the Campo of old and was dialed for 2 strong innings, looking great.

At the plate and for the game in general, Kale Seitz was the story.  Kale was unstoppable, rocking 2 triples, a double and a single for 4 knocks on the night.  Without question this was one of the all-time offensive preformances in Giants history.  The entire starting lineup had at least one hit, Latos with 2.  Kale set a new Giants record for triples in a game and tied the extra base hits record as well.  The kid is a beast and he set the tone at the top of the lineup.

Looking forward to the next two games of this series on Sunday morning.
