Free passes give Habs the W

Posted May 16, 2019

It was a dark and somewhat chilly evening, and the bats stayed ice cold for the boys in a battle against the improved habs.  We sent rookie Venezuelan sensation Luis to the bump against FMBA vet and Knuck Guru Tony Wylie for the habs.  Control was the issue for Luis on the night, as the Canadians didn't muster much for hits (three on the entire night) but 11 free passes and 2 hit batsmen from Giants pitchers provided enough ammo fo the habs to sctatch across 4 runs, despite several goofy baserunning gaffes.

Fellow Rookie Daniel Baydak made his debut behind the dish and was solid back there, boxing everything up and gunning out a couple runners...but really announced his presence with a laser triple off the wall in deep left-centre, the first of two knocks on the night.  Muge, Latos and Danny chipped in with RBIs.  Parker and Campo came in and each logged an inning to round out the pitching performance for the day.

The Habs played better defence than us on the day, and took advantage of the baserunners they were given, so they're full value for the W on the night.

Got some time off for the long weekend to lick the wounds.
