Duked to bed.

Duked to bed.

The DBacks took on the basement dwelling Dukes in a battle of snooze. Gayef still in a fit of depression from being on the DL, took infield-outfield, the plate meeting and coached 3rd without a Jersey, in flip-flops and a hoodie. The game was so uneventful, Terrence tried to spice things up by throwing a ball at the umpire from the bench. He missed, and no one seemed to care, not even the umpire with cat-like reflexes. To make things worse, Joe Sergent made his DBacks season debut tossing a modest 4 hit shutout.

Base running was suspect today as Zanutto and Trask got picked off at first, back-to-back, Trask still showing problems with the location of first base - pretty sure he thinks it's a pub. Zanutto self-imposed a permanent red light on the base paths stating to the coaching staff “How about we just never call steal for me ever again”.  Sutherland is putting on some base-running clinics over the weekend for the majority of the DBacks roster.

Wong didn’t strike out today which was nice to see. Coop continued his trend of base knocks or strikeouts going 2 for 3 with 1 K.  Kraus and Kenton were the heroes today, knocking in the only 2 runs of the Dbacks 2 – 0 win.

MVP: Kraus and Kenton
VAG: Zanutto and Trask
