| Game Notes: This was going to be a tough one for the Rockets as not only were they playing the Cougars for the fourth time this season, but also, the winner has a good shot at hosting a regional tournament next weekend. So there was a lot on the line in this one and a lot of pressure on the team, but they responded and stepped up huge in this one. The Rockets started out with a full court man pressure which they have not run a great deal and it worked to great success. The press didn't generate a lot of turnovers in the Cougar back court, but it did force them into some bad shots and passes in their front court which the Rockets did very well to create numbers advantages in transition which they continually converted and allowed them to jump out to a 29-11 first quarter lead. The last time the Rockets played Caronport, they were without Kacey at the point and they struggled with the Cougar man press, but with Kacey back in the lineup (which allowed everyone to be in their natural positions) and her ability to be calm under pressure and scan the floor at the same time created many lay-ups as well. As a team, the Rockets did a phenomenal job taking care of the boards by getting a whopping 37 rebounds on the defensive glass with Natasha getting 10, Alexa getting 9 and Hanna getting 5 off of the bench. After the strong first quarter, the Rockets were able to get some bench in and despite a little scary run by Caronport at the end of the first half, were able to maintain their lead the rest of the way. Kudos to Hanna for her best game as a Rocket by getting those previously mentioned rebounds and getting 8 points in the paint which was huge from off the bench. Kudos also goes to Alexa for breaking the Rockets single season scoring record in this one. Alexa broke Lynn Taillon's single season mark of 610 in this one with her 24 point performance.
