Christian Zamudio led the way going 4-4 with 3 RBI and reaching base in all 5 plate appearances. The Trojans jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the third inning, but it was short-lived as they fell to Kimberly by a score of 11-4 at Sunset Park. Justin Lavey led the offense with a 2-run base-loaded double. Christian Zamudio followed that with an RBI single.
Trojans Drop Conference Final
The Trojans battled #1 ranked Indian Trail for 6 innings with the score tied at 3-3, but the Hawks broke through in the 7th to hand Tremper a 9-3 loss in the last conference game of the season. Nathan Renner had a big day at the plate going 2-3 with both hits driving in runs with 2 outs. Justin Lavey added a pair of hits and scored once while Zak Valdez drilled a double down the leftfield line. Keith Kutzler got the no-decision, going 3 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He walked 4 and struck out 4. Tremper will travel north on Saturday to play tow non-conference games against Kimberly and Green Bay Notre Dame. Games are scheduled for 1pm and 4 pm.

The Trojans battled back from a 5-0 deficit before their 8-game winning streak was eventually broken with a 6-4 loss to Burlington. The bats were hot as the Trojans belted out 12 hits, and the Tremper pitching was solid leading the way to a 5-4 win and season sweep against crosstown-rival Bradford. Hunter Weddel had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs with a bases-loaded single in the 4th inning. Garrett LaBreche, Nathan Renner, and Zak Valdez also had a pair of hits. Renner's second hit, a hard single to left, was the game winner as it scored Keith Kutzler who had reached base on a hit-by-pitch. On a day when the bats of both teams were fairly silent, Hunter Weddel's homerun shot to left rang loud and clear as the Trojans defeated the Red Devils 3-2. Weddel's blast broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 5th and gave Tremper the lead for good. Christian Zamudio singled in the 4th inning with 2 outs and his courtesy runner, Jordan Kehl, eventually scored the tying run. Zamudio then came up with a runner on 2nd base and 2 outs in the 5th and delivered again with a booming double into the left-centerfield gap to score Garrett LaBreche. Keith Kutzler earned the tough win, scattering 3 hits and giving up 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings. He walked 6 and struck out 10 batters. Nathan Renner came in and earned the save for the Trojans. The same two teams meet again tomorrow for a 4:30 contest at Wavro Field.

Austin Vazquez gave up only an infield single in his 4 innings of work and the offense exploded for 19 runs and 12 hits as Tremper defeated Racine Case 19-1 in five innings. Vazquez walked 1 and struck out 1 in earning the win. Garrett LaBreche, Justin Lavey, and Christian Zamudio each had a pair hits. Lavey drilled a 3-run homerun, scored 3 times and drove in 4 runs. Tremper Comes From Behind To Beat Bradford
Being down 3-0 after 3 innings didn't faze the Trojans as they rallied for 7 runs over the next 3 innings to defeat Bradford by a score of 7-3 at Carthage College. It was a combination of timely hitting, solid defense, and clutch pitching that produced the win. Garrett LaBreche, Justin Lavey and Keith Kutzler each had a pair of hits. LaBreche had a double and scored 2 runs while Lavey and James Althoff also had doubles. Kutzler struck out the side in the 4th to earn the win while Hunter Weddel tossed 3 scoreless innings to earn the tough save. Tremper pitching combined for 12 strikeouts in the game. The Trojan defense also turned a pair of clutch doubleplays in the 1st and 6th innings. Tremper now plays Racine Case at 2pm tomorrow at Andy Smith Field. The Eagles will be the home team as their field is still too wet for play.
Trojans Knock Off #1 Ranked Arrowhead On The Road
Facing University of Florida recruit Nathan Brown of Arrowhead, the Tremper offense woke up from yesterday's slumber to defeat top-ranked Arrowhead 7-6 on the road. Justin Lavey and Keith Kutzler each drilled a homerun, collected 2 hits, drove in 2 runs, and scored twice for Tremper. Mitchell Buban also had a pair of hits. Hunter Weddel doubled and scored twice from the leadoff spot. Andrew Freiberg scattered 12 hits over his 6 innings of work to earn the victory. He walked one and gave up 4 earned runs. Nathan Renner pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to earn the save. Tremper improves to 12-3 on the season. The Trojans are off until Tuesday when they host Bradford for a 4:30 game at Andy Smith Field.
Pitching Carries Tremper Past Racine Case
In a game where the Trojan bats seemed to take the day off, the Tremper pitching of starter Jacob DeLabio and reliever Kyle Griffin carried the Trojans to a 3-2 win over Racine Case. The Tremper baseball team took advantage of the free bases by Racine Case on their way to a 13-2 win in 6 innings over the Eagles. The Trojans collected 7 hits including 2 doubles each by Justin Lavey and Nathan Renner. Lavey drove in 4 runs while Renner drove in 3. Tremper capitalized on 10 walks and 6 hit batters to cruise to the easy victory. Hunter Weddel scored 3 times while Garrett LaBreche reached base in all 5 plate appearances.
