TREMPER SEASON ENDS WITH REGIONAL FINAL LOSS

The Trojans fought back from a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning to force extra innings, but a 3-run 9th inning by Lake Geneva Badger was too much to overcome as they fell 5-3 in the Regional Final. Robbie Covelli had 3 hits including a double to lead Tremper's offense. Nathan Renner took the tough loss, giving up just 2 hits and 2 unearned runs in his 5 2/3 innings of work. We'd like to thank our wonderful parents and fantastic fans for all of their support! You are all awesome! 

TROJANS SPLIT SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER

The Trojan bats erupted for 12 hits as Tremper defeated Milwaukee King by a score of 10-0 in 5 innings. Garrett LaBreche had 3 hits while Hunter Weddel, Nathan Renner, and Brandon Watkins each had 2 hits for the offense. LaBreche and Watkins each scored twice. Renner had 3 RBI and Weddel added 2 RBI. Sophomore Jared Heinzen earned the win in his first varsity action. Heinzen scattered 2 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts without giving up a run. Chandler Giampietro and LaBreche each had 2 hits in the first game but the Trojans fell behind early as the lost to Kimberly 13-1 in 5 innings. Tremper will host the winner of Tuesday's Lake Geneva Badger vs Westosha Central contest on Thursday at 4:30 pm at Andy Smith Field.

WINNING STREAK ENDS AT 6 FOR TROJANS

Dante Guarascio and Reese Dutton pitched 6 innings without giving up an earned run, but 2 unearned runs in the 1st inning was enough for Watertown as the Trojans fell 2-1 in Watertown. Guarascio took the tough loss scattering 3 hits over his 3 innings of work. He walked 4 and struck out 2. Dutton gave up no runs and only 1 hit in his 3 innings of work. He walked 1 and struck out 3 batters. Guarascio also drove in Tremper's only run with a RBI single in the 4th inning. The Trojans host Arrowhead on Friday for a 4:30 contest.

TREMPER EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO 6 GAMES

The Trojans extended their current winning streak to 6 games with a 4-2 home victory over Hartford on Wednesday. Kyle Humphres earned the win giving up just 2 runs in his 5 1/3 innings of work. He walked none and struck out 4. Tyler Moilanen came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save. Mitchell Buban, Garrett LaBreche, Nathan Renner and Brandon Watkins each had a pair of hits for the Tremper offense. The Trojans travel to Watertown on Thursday for a 4:30 nonconference battle with the Goslings.

TROJANS SWEEP INDIAN TRAIL TO FINISH 14-1 IN SEC PLAY

The Tremper baseball team finished out their conference schedule in style with a 5-3 win over Indian Trail in 8 innings. Hunter Weddel had 2 hits, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs while Chandler Giampietro went 3-4 with a double. Eddie Makar also had 2 hits to lead the offense. Nathan Renner worked the final 4 innings to earn the win. Renner scattered 2 hits and walked none while giving up just the 1 earned run. Andrew Freiberg was the Tremper starter. Freiberg went 4 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits. He walked 1 batter and struck out 1. The Trojans will host Hartford tomorrow at 4:30 for a non-conference game at Andy Smith Field. 

TREMPER CROWNED CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS

Mitchell Buban pitched 6 solid innings of 3-hit ball without giving up an earned run as the Trojans earned the SEC title of conference champions with a 5-1 victory over the Horlick Rebels in Racine. Buban walked 2 batters and struck out 1. Garrett LaBreche had 2 hits and scored a run to lead the offense. Alex Moyao, Buban, LaBreche, Hunter Weddel and Robbie Covelli all had hits in the 5-run 5th inning for Tremper. The Trojans next host Arrowhead at Andy Smith at 11am on Saturday.

TROJANS CLINCH SHARE OF CONFERENCE TITLE

It was a total team effort that led to a tight 6-5 win for the Trojans over the Bradford Red Devils and clinched at least a share of the conference title for Tremper. MItchell Buban had 2 hits and scored 3 runs while Garrett LaBreche also had 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Hunter Weddel drove in 3 runs and Nathan Renner added a pair of RBI for the offense. Andrew Freiberg (5-0) went 5 2/3 innings giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits. He walked 3 and struck out 4. Hunter Weddel came on to get his 3rd save of the season as he gave up 1 hit and struck out 2 batters to close the game. The Trojans next travel to Racine's Horlick Field on Thursday to face the Horlick Rebels at 4:30 pm.

TREMPER BATS EXPLODE IN CONFERENCE WIN

The offense bounced back from a 2-run performance on Friday with 13 runs on 12 hits as the Trojans cruised to a 13-8 conference win over Racine Park. Hunter Weddel led the way as he went 3-3 and drove in 6 runs. Garrett LaBreche also went 3-3 with 2 doubles and he scored 4 runs. Mitchell Buban scored 4 times on a hit and 3 walks. Weddel and Robbie Covelli also had doubles for Tremper. Tyler Moilanen improved to 3-0 on the season as he have up 6 runs on 6 hits over 4 innings. He walked 3 and struck out 7 Panther batters. The Trojans host Bradford tomorrow for a 4:30 contest at Andy Smith Field.

TROJANS BOUNCE BACK WITH GREAT PITCHING

One day after the first loss in conference, the Tremper pitching staff made sure that a new winning streak would be started with a 2-1 win over Racine Case. Dante Guarascio gave up only 2 hits and 1 run over 5 innings in earning the win. He walked 3 and struck out 2 Eagle batters. Nathan Renner and Mitchell Buban then each tossed a hitless inning of relief with Buban earning the save. Down 1-0 in the 5th inning, Eddie Makar led off with a double and then Chandler Giampietro followed with a single. Buban later delivered an RBI single and Garrett LaBreche launched a deep sacrifice fly to give the Trojans all of the runs they would need. Tremper travels to Racine Park on Monday for a 4:30 contest at Horlick Field.

TREMPER SUFFERS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS

None of the pieces fell into place for the Trojans in a 10-3 loss to Bradford on Thursday. The hitting, pitching and defense all were not up to season standards as Tremper suffered its first loss. Kyle Humphres took the loss giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 0 walks in 2 1/3 innings of work. Garrett LaBrech and Hunter Weddel each had 2 hits for the Trojans. LaBrech doubled while Weddel drove in 2 runs. The Trojans host Racine Case at Andy Smith Field tomorrow for a 2:00 pm start.

TROJANS BOUNCE BACK WITH SHUTOUT OF BRADFORD

Andrew Freiberg has been on his game this season and it continued with Tuesday's dominance of Bradford in a 9-0 Tremper victory. Freiberg scattered 3 hits and 1 walk in his complete game shutout as he improved his season record to 4-0. Freiberg has yet to allow an earned run this season. Nathan Renner and Hunter Weddel led the offense for the Trojans. Renner had 2 hits including a double, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs. Weddel also had a pair of hits and drove in 3 runs for Tremper. Garrett LaBreche and Robbie Covelli also had 2 hits while Mitchell Buban scored twice. The same two teams meet up again on Thursday afternoon for a 4:30 rematch at Andy Smith Field.

TREMPER SUFFERS 2ND LOSS OF THE SEASON

Things just did not click for Tremper in suffering a 9-5 non-conference loss to Westosha Central on Friday. The Trojans kept fighting before eventually falling for the second time this season. Nathan Renner and Mitchell Buban each had a pair of hits and Alex Moyao led off the game with a booming double and scored. Garrett LaBreche drove in a pair of runs while Buban scored twice for the offense. Dante Guarascio suffered the loss in relief surrendering 3 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks. He struck out 5 Central batters. The Trojans resume conference play on Tuesday when they travel to Bradford for a 4:30 contest.

TROJANS HOLD ON FOR 1-RUN WIN

The Trojans hit the ball hard but right at someone all night long as they hung on for a 6-5 win over Racine Case at Horlick Field. Mitchell Buban was 2-3 with a RBI and 2 runs scored and Hunter Weddell had a big 2-out RBI single to lead the Tremper offense. Reese Dutton had a double and reached base 3 times. Kyle Humphres earned the win by scattering 2 hits and 5 walks over his 4 2/3 innings of work. Both runs he gave up were earned. Nathan Renner pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to earn the save. He gave up 5 hits while he walked 1 and struck out 3 batters. All 3 runs against him were earned as well. The Trojans next travel to Westosha Central for a 4:30 contest on Friday afternoon.

FREIBERG LEADS TREMPER TO 10TH WIN

Andrew Freiberg was methodical and effective as he improved his record to 4-0 with a 10-0 win over Racine Case in 5 innings. Freiberg gave up just 2 hits. He walked non and struck out 6 Eagle batters. Alex Moyao and Hunter Weddel both had a pair of hits for the Trojans. They both scored twice and Weddel drove in a pair of runs. Eddie Makar had a hit and reached base in all 3 plate appearances. Makar drove in 2 and scored a run. The same two teams meet again on Wednesday for a 4:30 pm contest at Racine Horlick Field.

TROJANS MAKE IT TWO STRAIGHT OVER INDIAN TRAIL

The Tremper bats got heated quickly as they scored 3 runs in the first 2 innings capped by a 2-run double by Alex Moyao as they went on to defeat Indian Trail by a score of 7-3. Kyle Humphres earned the win by giving up just 1 earned run over his 4 innings of work. Humphres gave up 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2 batters. Hunter Weddel earned the save by only allowing 2 unearned runs in his 3 innings of work. He walked none and struck out 6 batters. Mitchell Buban broke the game open in the 6th inning with a 3-run bomb to leftfield. Weddel and Eddie Makar both had 2 hits and both belted doubles for the offense. Makar scored 2 runs while Nathan Renner drove in a pair to lead Tremper. The Trojans next travel on Monday to Burlington for a 4:30 game against the defending state champions.

TREMPER KNOCKS OFF WISCONSIN LUTHERAN

Mitchell Buban went 3-4 with a double and a RBI as the Trojans defeated Wisconsin Lutheran by a score of 8-3. Nathan Renner and Brandon Watkins each had a pair of hits while Watkins also scored twice. Stephen Schmidt scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Tyler Moilanen picked up the win giving up 3 runs (2 earned) . He scattered 5 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings of work. Dante Guarascio earned the save pitching 3 scoreless innings of relief. Guarascio gave up 2 hits, walked 1 and struck out 6 batters. The Trojans travel across town to Indian Trail for a 4:30 game on Thursday.

LABRECHE AND TROJANS WALK-OFF WITH WIN 

Garrett LaBreche singled home Alex Moyao in the bottom of the 10th inning with the first and only run of the game as Tremper defeated Indian Trail by a score of 1-0. Andrew Freiberg was masterful on the mound as he started and went 7 innings, scattering 4 hits and 2 walks with a pair of strikeouts. Nathan Renner pitched the final 3 innings without giving up a hit in earning the win. He walked 1 and struck out 3 Hawk batters. Hunter Weddel had a pair of singles to lead the offense. Tremper hosts Wisconsin Lutheran tomorrow at 4:30 pm before traveling to Indian Trail on Thursday for a rematch of these two teams.

TREMPER SUFFERS FIRST DEFEAT OF SEASON

Rancocas Valley High School of New Jersey came out swinging in the first inning, scoring 3 runs enroute to handing the Trojans a 7-5 loss first the first time this season. Garrett LaBreche had a 2-run double in the 3rd inning while Alex Moyao and Brandon Watkins both singled and drove in a run. Eddie Makar singled and scored a run, as did Moyao. Kyle Humphres suffered the loss, giving up 3 earned runs over his 3 1/3 innings of work. Dante Guarascio closed out the game by striking out 5 of the 6 batters he faced. The Trojans host Indian Trail on Tuesday for a 4:30 contest at Andy Smith Field.

TROJANS SWEEP OPENING DH IN ORLANDO

Hunter Weddel pitched 3 innings of 1-hit relief to back the solid starting pitching of Tyler Moilanen as the Trojans held on to beat Shawnee HS (New Jersey) by a score of 4-3. Garrett LaBreche led the offense going 3-3 and scoring a run. Tremper exploded for 4 runs in the 3rd inning and let the pitching of Moilanen and Weddel do the rest while improving to 6-0 overall.

In Game 1, Andrew Freiberg and Nathan Renner combined on a 3-hitter as Tremper defeated Canandaigua Academy (New York) by a score os 3-1. Alex Moyao led off the game with a double in the gap and Renner singled to drive him home for the early lead. Renner was 3-3 on the day, drove in a pair of runs, and pitched the final 2 innings of hitless ball to earn the save. Freiberg scattered the 3 hits, walked none, and struck out 6 to lead the Trojans. Tremper plays at 7am (CST) Thursday against Rancocas Valley (New Jersey).

7TH INNING RALLY COMPLETES SWEEP OF RACINE HORLICK

Tremper was down to their last strike in the top of the 7th of Game 2 but Hunter Weddel battled his way to a walk to put runners on first and second base with 2 outs and Garrett LaBreche took it from there. Down 3-2, LaBreche singled to right to score pinch runner Jordan Smith and the hustling Weddel continued around third and scored as the throw home barely bounced away from the catcher giving Tremper a 4-3 lead. The Trojans kept the lead in the bottom of the 7th inning thanks to a fantastic running catch by leftfielder Chandler Giampietro. LaBreche had 2 hits and 2 RBI while Weddel scored a pair of runs. Weddel pitched the final 2 innings to earn the win in relief.

In Game 1, Kyle Humphres scattered 2 hits and and a walk over 5 innings to lead the Trojans to a 6-2 win over the Rebels of Racine Horlick. Humphres struck out 3 and benefitted from the Tremper defense turning a pair of doubleplays. Garrett LaBreche led the offense with a pair of hits. Reese Dutton drove in 3 runs and Robbie Covelli scored twice. Tremper baseball now travels to Orlando, FL for 3 games.

TROJANS MOVE TO 2-0 TO START THE SEASON

Jordan Smith drilled a 2-out bases-loaded double to clear the bases and give Tremper a 14-4 win over Racine Park in six innings. Smith ended with 4 RBI on the day. Dante Guarascio scattered 4 hits and 2 walks over his 4 innings of work to earn the win. He struck out 8 Panther batters. Eddie Makar had a double and scored 3 times while Brandon Watkins and Bryce Baldwin each added a pair of hits to lead the offense. The Trojans will play a doubleheader against Racine Horlick on Saturday beginning at 11am at Andy Smith Field.

TROJANS WIN SEASON OPENER ON THE ROAD

Andrew Freiberg and Tyler Moilanen combined on a 2-hit shutout in a 5-0 win over Racine Park in the season opener for both teams at Horlick Field in Racine. Freiberg gave up 2 hits in his 5 innings as he struck out 6 Panthers. Moilanen picked up the save as he faced the minimum 6 batters and recording 4 strikeouts. Garrett LaBreche led the offense going 4-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Mitchell Buban and Reese Dutton both had a pair of hits and each banged out a double. Alex Moyao also had 2 hits as the Trojans tallied 11 hits for the game. Tremper travels to Horlick Field again tomorrow to face the Horlick Rebels at 4:30.
