Season Ends on Regional Upset

The Horlick Rebels were able to take advantage of some early free bases and held on to upset the #2 seeded Trojans 4-2 on Thursday. Tremper chipped away at a 4-0 early deficit, but the comeback fell short. Justin Lavey had a RBI double, Jeff Steuck doubled, and Jordan Kehl had a RBI single for the Trojans. Christian Zamudio was 1-1 and reached base safely in all 4 plate appearances. The Tremper coaching staff would like to thank all of the parents, family, and fans for their support this season. We also wish our seniors well on their life journeys.


Trojans Rebound To Take Second Game Over GB Notre Dame

The Tremper bats warmed up as they banged out 16 hits in a 8-2 win over Green Bay Notre Dame at Appleton East High School. Christian Zamudio led the way going 4-4 with 3 RBI and reaching base in all 5 plate appearances. Justin Lavey and Jeff Steuck each added 3 hits, while Hunter Weddel and Garrett LaBreche both had a pair of hits for the offense. LaBreche and Lavey each scored twice. Andrew Freiberg earned the win by giving up the 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings of work. He walked none and struck out 2. The Trojans will play a regional final at 4:30 pm on Thursday at Andy Smith Field against the winner of the Lake Geneva Badger vs Racine Horlick game to be played on Tuesday in Racine.


Tremper Drops First Game Of DH

The Trojans jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the third inning, but it was short-lived as they fell to Kimberly by a score of 11-4 at Sunset Park. Justin Lavey led the offense with a 2-run base-loaded double. Christian Zamudio followed that with an RBI single. 


Trojans Drop Conference Final

The Trojans battled #1 ranked Indian Trail for 6 innings with the score tied at 3-3, but the Hawks broke through in the 7th to hand Tremper a 9-3 loss in the last conference game of the season. Nathan Renner had a big day at the plate going 2-3 with both hits driving in runs with 2 outs. Justin Lavey added a pair of hits and scored once while Zak Valdez drilled a double down the leftfield line. Keith Kutzler got the no-decision, going 3 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He walked 4 and struck out 4. Tremper will travel north on Saturday to play tow non-conference games against Kimberly and Green Bay Notre Dame. Games are scheduled for 1pm and 4 pm.


Tremper's 8-Game Win Streak Ended

The Trojans battled back from a 5-0 deficit before their 8-game winning streak was eventually broken with a 6-4 loss to Burlington. Garrett LaBreche, Justin Lavey, and Jeff Stueck each had 2 hits for Tremper. Lavey drove in 2 runs while Hunter Weddel scored twice. Austin Vazquez pitched well in relief, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. The Trojans play Indian Trail on Tuesday at Andy Smith Field for a share of the conference title.


Solid Pitching And Hitting Lead Tremper To Win

Jacob DeLabio scattered 4 hits over 5 2/3 innings and gave up only an unearned run as the Trojans defeated Racine Horlick by a score of 11-1 in 6 innings. DeLabio walked 1 and struck out 10 in earning his 4th win of the season. Hunter Weddel, Justin Lavey and Zak Valdez led the offense with 2 hits apiece. Lavey scored 3 runs, drove in 2, and stole 3 bases. Valdez scored twice, and Garrett LaBreche drove in a pair for Tremper. The Trojans play a non-conference game tomorrow at 4:30 vs Burlington at Andy Smith Field.


Trojans Complete Season Sweep vs Bradford

The bats were hot as the Trojans belted out 12 hits, and the Tremper pitching was solid leading the way to a 5-4 win and season sweep against crosstown-rival Bradford. Hunter Weddel had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs with a bases-loaded single in the 4th inning. Garrett LaBreche, Nathan Renner, and Zak Valdez also had a pair of hits. Renner's second hit, a hard single to left, was the game winner as it scored Keith Kutzler who had reached base on a hit-by-pitch. Christian Zamudio and Kutzler also each drove in a run for the offense. Weddel earned the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings of relief. He gave up just 1 unearned run on 1 hit, 1 walk and 1 strikeout. The Trojans next play at 4:30 on Thursday against Racine Horlick at Andy Smith Field.


Weddel's Blast Leads Tremper Over Bradford

On a day when the bats of both teams were fairly silent, Hunter Weddel's homerun shot to left rang loud and clear as the Trojans defeated the Red Devils 3-2. Weddel's blast broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 5th and gave Tremper the lead for good. Christian Zamudio singled in the 4th inning with 2 outs and his courtesy runner, Jordan Kehl, eventually scored the tying run. Zamudio then came up with a runner on 2nd base and 2 outs in the 5th and delivered again with a booming double into the left-centerfield gap to score Garrett LaBreche. Keith Kutzler earned the tough win, scattering 3 hits and giving up 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings. He walked 6 and struck out 10 batters. Nathan Renner came in and earned the save for the Trojans. The same two teams meet again tomorrow for a 4:30 contest at Wavro Field.


Trojans Complete Season Sweep of Racine Case

Austin Vazquez gave up only an infield single in his 4 innings of work and the offense exploded for 19 runs and 12 hits as Tremper defeated Racine Case 19-1 in five innings. Vazquez walked 1 and struck out 1 in earning the win. Garrett LaBreche, Justin Lavey, and Christian Zamudio each had a pair hits. Lavey drilled a 3-run homerun, scored 3 times and drove in 4 runs. Mitchell Buban scored 4 times and LaBreche scored 3 times. Keith Kutzler drove in 3 runs while Jeff Steuck, Zamudio, and Bryce Baldwin each drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans. The Trojans next game is a 4:30 home contest vs Bradford on Monday at Andy Smith Field.


Tremper Comes From Behind To Beat Bradford

Being down 3-0 after 3 innings didn't faze the Trojans as they rallied for 7 runs over the next 3 innings to defeat Bradford by a score of 7-3 at Carthage College. It was a combination of timely hitting, solid defense, and clutch pitching that produced the win. Garrett LaBreche, Justin Lavey and Keith Kutzler each had a pair of hits. LaBreche had a double and scored 2 runs while Lavey and James Althoff also had doubles. Kutzler struck out the side in the 4th to earn the win while Hunter Weddel tossed 3 scoreless innings to earn the tough save. Tremper pitching combined for 12 strikeouts in the game. The Trojan defense also turned a pair of clutch doubleplays in the 1st and 6th innings. Tremper now plays Racine Case at 2pm tomorrow at Andy Smith Field. The Eagles will be the home team as their field is still too wet for play. 


Trojans Knock Off #1 Ranked Arrowhead On The Road

Facing University of Florida recruit Nathan Brown of Arrowhead, the Tremper offense woke up from yesterday's slumber to defeat top-ranked Arrowhead 7-6 on the road. Justin Lavey and Keith Kutzler each drilled a homerun, collected 2 hits, drove in 2 runs, and scored twice for Tremper. Mitchell Buban also had a pair of hits. Hunter Weddel doubled and scored twice from the leadoff spot. Andrew Freiberg scattered 12 hits over his 6 innings of work to earn the victory. He walked one and gave up 4 earned runs. Nathan Renner pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to earn the save. Tremper improves to 12-3 on the season. The Trojans are off until Tuesday when they host Bradford for a 4:30 game at Andy Smith Field.


Pitching Carries Tremper Past Racine Case

In a game where the Trojan bats seemed to take the day off, the Tremper pitching of starter Jacob DeLabio and reliever Kyle Griffin carried the Trojans to a 3-2 win over Racine Case. DeLabio struck out 10 batters in his 5 innings of work, allowing only 1 run and walking 2 in receiving the no-decision. Kyle Griffin came in and earned the victory, giving up 1 run and 1 hit in 2 innings of work. Justin Lavey drilled a 2-out, 2-run double in the 5th inning that gave Tremper a 2-1 lead. After Case tied the game in the top of the 6th, Jeff Steuck drove a double down the line to score Nathan Renner in the bottom of the inning for the winning margin. The Trojans travel tomorrow to play top-ranked Arrowhead at 4:30pm.


Trojans Get Back On Winning Track

The Tremper baseball team took advantage of the free bases by Racine Case on their way to a 13-2 win in 6 innings over the Eagles. The Trojans collected 7 hits including 2 doubles each by Justin Lavey and Nathan Renner. Lavey drove in 4 runs while Renner drove in 3. Tremper capitalized on 10 walks and 6 hit batters to cruise to the easy victory. Hunter Weddel scored 3 times while Garrett LaBreche reached base in all 5 plate appearances. LaBreche had 3 stolen bases and drove in a pair of runs. Keith Kutzler got the win, scattering 3 hits and walking 5 over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out 4 Eagles. The same two teams meet again at Andy Smith Field on Thursday for a 4:30 contest.


Tremper Drops Second Straight

The Trojans scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to pull within a run but they eventually fell to Indian Trail by a score of 10-4 in a rain-shortened game of 6 innings. Jeff Steuck and Zak Valdez each had a pair of hits. Steuck drove in 2 runs with a double. The Trojans are off until Saturday at noon when they host Watertown at Andy Smith Field.


Trojan Win Streak Ends At 9

Keith Kutzler pitched well, but the run totals were as low as the temperature as Tremper fell to Indian Trail by a score of 3-2. Kutzler scattered 5 hits and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 9 batters. Christian Zamudio stayed hot with 2 hits including a double and an RBI. Kutzler drove in the other run with a single. Hunter Weddel and Justin Lavey scored runs for Tremper. The same two teams battle again tomorrow at Andy Smith Field with a 4:30 contest.


Tremper Baseball Wins DeBoer Classic in Waupun

Garrett LaBreche was 3-3 with 3 RBI as the Trojans won the DeBoer Classic in Waupun with a 10-4 victory over Lodi in the championship game. Christian Zamudio, Keith Kutzler, Jeff Steuck and Nathan Renner all had 2 hits apiece. Zamudio and Steuck each scored twice while Renner drove in a pair of runs. Tremper scored 35 runs in the 3-game tournament. Sophomore Dante Guarascio earned the win scattering 4 hits over 4 innings while walking 3 and striking out 3. Tyler Moilanen came in and shut the door over the next 3 innings giving up just 1 run over the final 3 innings. He struck out 7 while walking 3. The Trojans travel to to Indian Trail on Tuesday to face the Hawks at 4:30 pm.


Trojan Offense Stays Hot Heading Into Championship Game

Christian Zamudio and Keith Kutzler both had 3 hits in Tremper's 11-7 win over Waukesha Catholic Memorial. Kutzler had a double and a triple while driving in 5 runs and Zamudio scored 3 times and drove in a pair. Justin Lavey drove in 3 runs on a 2-run single and a sac fly. Nathna Renner picked up the win in relief going 3 1/3 innings without giving up a run. He walked none and struck out 3. Kyle Griffin started on the bump for Tremper, giving up 5 earned runs on 5 hits. He walked 6 and struck out 3. Tremper now plays in the 5:00 championship game against Lodi.


Lavey Leads Tremper's Offense To Tournament Win

Justin Lavey was on fire and his bat was red-hot in Tremper's 14-2 win over Escanaba, MI. Lavey had 3 hits including a double and 2 triples. He drove in 5 runs and scored 4 times. He wasn't alone. Keith Kutzler banged a 2-run double while Garrett Labreche lined a 2-run triple. Hunter Weddel and Mitchell Buban each scored twice. Austin Vazquez earned his first victory, throwing 3 innings of 4-hit ball. He gave up 1 earned run, walking 2 and striking out 2. The Trojans play again tomorrow at noon against the winner of Catholic Memorial and Westosha Central.


Tremper Takes Second Straight vs Horlick

Jacob DeLabio tossed a fantastic game and Andrew Freiberg came in and shut the door as the Trojans defeated the Racine Horlick Rebels by a score of 4-3 in Kenosha. DeLabio went 5 2/3 innings, scattering 5 hits and giving up 3 runs to earn the win. Freiberg retired the 4 batters he faced to close out the game and earn his first save. Hunter Weddel scored twice while Justin Lavey and Keith Kutzler drove in a run each to lead the offense. Tremper also played flawless defense. The Trojans now travel to Waupun for a 3-game weekend tournament on Friday and Saturday.


Kutzler Leads Tremper To Win Over Racine Horlick

Keith Kutzler took care of business on the mound and at the plate, leading the Trojans to a 10-1 victory over the host Racine Horlick Rebels. Kutzler scattered 4 hits over 5 1/3 innings of work, walking 4 and striking out 7 to earn the win. Kutzler also followed up an earlier sacrifice fly with a 3-run bomb to right-centerfield in the 7th inning to cap off the scoring. He finished with 4 RBI. Also coming up extra bases for Tremper were Hunter Weddel and Mitchell Buban with doubles, Justin Lavey with a triple, and Jeff Steuck with a solo homerun. Lavey and Steuck each scored twice while Weddel drove in a pair of runs. Christian Zamudio had a pair of hits and was solid behind the plate. The same two teams match up again on Thursday at Andy Smith Field for a 4:30 contest.


Trojans Complete Season Sweep of Racine Park

Andrew Freiberg got his first chance on the mound for the Trojans and he didn't disappoint, leading Tremper to a 11-0 win in 5 innings. Freiberg threw a complete game shutout, scattering 2 hits and a walk to go along with 5 strikeouts. Hunter Weddel had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI, while Justin Lavey added 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases to lead the offense. Zak Valdez had 2 RBI and a pair of runs scored and Freiberg accounted for 2 runs scored as well. The Trojans travel to Horlick Field on Tuesday to play Racine Horlick at 4:30pm.


Tremper Pitchers Throw Gem

Jacob DeLabio and Austin Vazquez combined on a 3-hit shutout as the Trojans defeated Westosha Central by a score of 8-0. DeLabio (2-0) gave up just 3 infield hits in his 4 1/3 innings of work. He walked 3 and struck out 7. Vazquez pitched the final 2 2/3 innings without giving up a hit in earning the save. He worked out of a 2-on, 1-out jam in the 5th inning. Mitchell Buban, Garrett LaBreche, and Jeff Steuck each had a pair of hits for the offense. Justin Lavey had a triple and scored twice while LaBreche and Keith Kutzler added doubles. Kutzler and Steuck each drove in a pair of runs for Tremper as well. The Trojans will host Racine Park tomorrow morning at 11:00am at Andy Smith Field.


Trojans Win For Second Time Over Park Panthers

Keith Kutzler threw 4 no-hit innings of baseball and Hunter Weddel had 3 base hits and scored 3 times as the Tremper baseball team beat Park by a score of 9-2. Kutzler walked 2 and struck out 7 to earn his first win of the season. Weddel scored 3 times while Garrett LaBreche reached base 3 times and stole 3 bases. Tremper will host Westosha Central tomorrow at 4:30 pm before hosting Racine Park again on Saturday at 11:00.


Tremper Opens Conference Play With Convincing Win

Jacob DeLabio gave up just 3 harmless singles and the offense came alive as the Trojans opened the conference schedule with a 17-0 win over Racine Park at Carthage College in 5 innings. DeLabio struck out 7 and walked none to earn the victory. Keith Kutzler and James Althoff each had a pair of singles while Mitchell Buban, Christian Zamudio, and Garrett LaBreche each drove in a pair of runs. Hunter Weddel, Buban, Justin Lavey, and Althoff each scored twice for Tremper. The Trojans are scheduled to play a 4:30 non-conference game tomorrow in Milwaukee against Wisconsin Lutheran.


Trojans Offense Goes "Cold" In Season Opening Loss

The Tremper bats managed just 3 hits in the cold and sleet as they dropped the season opener by a score of 3-2 in Hartford. Garrett LaBreche had a double and a RBI while Mitchell Buban and Christian Zamudio added singles for the offense. Keith Kutzler took the tough loss giving up only 3 hits while walking 4 and striking out 7 Hartford batters. The Trojans will host Racine Park on Thursday for a 4:30 contest at Carthage College.
