Tri-City Indians Win 2016 Boulanger Bantam AA Tournament

Congratulations to Tri-City Bantam AA team for winning the 2016 Boulanger Bantam AA tournament this past weekend in Cloverdale.

After round robin play the Indians sat @ 3 and 0 beating tough competition from Delta Bantam AA (8:7) and then hitting the sticks for a combined 32 runs for and only 11 runs against in convincing wins over Cloverdale and North Langley.. up next in the semi finals was a Richmond team that started off well but the Indians got on the sticks in the 3rd inning eventually winning out the game 15:5.

The final game was a nail biter with the Indians again facing the Delta AA team they had met in earlier round robin play.. the Delta team got off to a quick start racking up a 7:2 lead by the end of the 3rd inning however the Indians did not give up and chipped away at the Delta lead.. and with the light fading managed to get in the seven innings to win out 12:10.

Key to the wins were great pitching from the Indians and very strong defense as well as some very key and timely decisions by the coaching staff.

Special thanks goes out to the Cloverdale Spurs for hosting the tournament... weather was amazing and the burgers/hot dogs were GREAT!!! job well done Cloverdale!!
