Jets Continue to Fly High!!!
Posted October 31, 2022
Another was another weekend of hockey, and another two wins for the SW Jets! The Jets started the weekend off by hosting the Blizzard in a battle that lasted to the final buzzer. The Blizzard came out strong and pocketed an early marker to put them up 1-0. The Jets, with Zaiden MacDonald-Horvath in net, took a deep breath and powered forward. The game was back and forth but in the end the Jets scored three unanswered goals to give them a 3-1 victory!
On Sunday the Jets travelled to Lac du Bonnet to take on the Northern Knights in an afternoon tilt. The game was a physical affair that saw some solid hits given by both teams. The Jets had Derek Poirier in net and while he saw a lot of shots, not a lot got by him cleanly. The Jets were able to move the puck well and the back-checking turned out to be a big difference maker in the game. The game was tight (3-1 after the first) but eventually the Jets were able to pull further ahead and maintained that lead to give them an 8-4 victory.
With the Jets now being 4-0 on the season they are back to work at practice this week ahead of a another busy weekend where they will head to Lorette to take on the Snipers Saturday and then host the Pembina Valley Flyers (also 4-0) on Sunday in Ste. Agathe!
