Area 19-20 5A track meet

The Spartan Girls track team participated in the Area 19-20 5A track meet at Seven Lakes High School and finished in a very respectable 3rd place out of 16 teams competing. The Area champion was Katy High School and the runner up was Houston Lamar. The top four finishers in every event qualified to participate in the Regional Track Championship in Humble this Friday and Saturday (the 25th and 26th).
Qualifying for Regionals were:

Kacie Jo Corbin - 800, 1600
Erica Brown - 1600, 3200
Lourdes Vivas - 3200
Imani Bluiett - 100H, 4x100 (Area Champion)
Jenya Hayes - 4x100 (Area Champion), 4x200
Cydney Varner - 4x100 (Area Champion), 4x200
Rachel Redmon - 4x200
Patricia Cabanilla - 4x200
Brittany Cecil - 4x200
Grace Ugwoegbu - 4x100
Sofia Maneth - PV
Dana Pollack - PV
Sierra Sensat - Discus
Ati Omilabu - Discus
The 4x100 team of Imani Blueitt, Cydeny Varner, Jenya Hayes, and Michelle Fokam also set a new school record in the 4x100, while Lourdes Vivas set a new school record in the 3200.
Details of the Regional Meet will be sent home later but I can give a few details now.
Triple Jump will be run at 1:00 pm on Friday, while all other running prelims will occur after 5:30. The 2 mile will be run as a final on Friday, right before the 4x400 meter relay prelims.
Pole Vault and Discus will compete on Saturday, as well as finals of the 1600. Any person qualifying in the prelims will also compete.
