Expos Tumble from 3rd to 6th in the Standings

A very long 1 day road trip was also a very disappointing one as the Expos dropped two in Lloydminster to the Pirates, and in doing so fell from 3rd place to 6th in the league standings. Again, as has often been the case lately, some very good pitching went to waste as the bats were quiet and the defence didn't show up committing 5 errors in a 6-1 loss in game 1. Spencer Davis deserved a better fate as he threw a complete game and only allowed 1 earned run on 7 Pirate hits but will be tagged with the loss as those 5 errors led to 5 unearned runs. And with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the first inning with none out the Expos only managed to cross the plate once and that turned out to be the only time they would score. They had runners at 1st and 2nd in the top of the 4th with one out but were unable to score.

In game two the Expos again scored first and actually had a 4-2 lead heading to the bottom of the 5th when the wheels fell off and the Pirates sent 10 batters to the plate and  scored 7 times, some home town scoring resulted in only 1 error been charged although it should more than likely been 3 or 4. The bats were even quieter than in the first game as Kaleb DesJarlais and Christian Crossman managed the only two hits of the game for the Expos as they fell 9-5.
