Rocky Start for Angels in Season Opener

Posted May 21, 2017

A lean line-up of new-look Angels took on a talented Reds squad Thursday night at Optimist Park. Both sides showed some opening night jitters, but the Reds put the bat on the ball and kept the baserunners running. Defense was not kind to Angels pitchers Chase Pelletier and Noah Kaytor who, despite respectable efforts, watched the score climb to 13-0 after 5 innings. After the game was called by the mercy rule, an extra inning was played where the Angels finally broke the goose egg.  Despite the score, there were signs of hope at the plate and the Angels will build on that groundwork for their game Sunday in Moose Jaw at 1pm at Ross Wells Park.
