May 7, 2020 UPDATE

At this time, we continue to wait on word from BC Baseball, with the hope of a short season.
This may possibly look like June 15th through July.

At this time fields are still closed.

Refund information below.

Firstly, to our OMBA families, we all hope you are staying safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty.

As you know, the spring season for baseball is on hold and suspended until further notice. Unfortunately, this will be how it remains until we re-evaluate the situation at the end of April and discussed during our next board meeting May 7th.

We have not shut the door on a possible “short season” and hold onto some hope that we may be able to facilitate this. Our goal is to get those players on the field when we have the go ahead to use facilities again and it is safe to do so.

*All Ball Fields/Facilities Are Closed to OMBA's Use.*

If your family requires a refund on registration fees, please contact angela@oceansidebaseball.ca to make arrangements.

*Please note:

Refunds will be mailed out once a request is made.

Original online processing fees are non-refundable.

Finally, we encourage players to continue to train and play ball in their backyards with family members.
Send us your pictures or videos….we would love to post them on our Facebook page for our baseball community to enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Effective immediately Baseball BC has extended the suspension of all sanctioned in-person baseball activity indefinitely

We at BC Minor Baseball are asking our member Associations to join us in supporting the notice received today from Baseball BC, please see the notice attached.

and this today:

British Columbia has announced a public health emergency due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

With so much uncertainty and pressure from our Health Authorities to limit social gathering, we're starting to see many of our municipalities closing public buildings and spaces, schools being closed in addition to businesses now taking more drastic steps to support the spread of the Covid-19 disease.

Seeing such I believe the upcoming spring baseball season will be impacted significantly and that all member Associations should plan/prepare for a suspended/canceled season.

Please support the good of public health until the Health Authorities give us a green light.

Grant Butler, BCLS
BCMBA President
