Mark Morris 2, Tumwater 2

Posted March 24, 2016

Cody Guernsey scored the game-tying run for the Monarchs in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the game was called moments later because of darkness in a nonleague contest at MM.

MM (1-0-1) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jordan Frost was hit by a pitch, and later scored on a Guernsey grounder. In the seventh, Noah Mejia coaxed a two-out, pinch-hit walk. He was lifted for Guernsey who re-entered the game, and scored when Easton McClung hit a grounder to the Tumwater shortstop, who threw the ball away.

The Monarchs had three hits, with Dawson St. Jean, Lane Spenker and James Manthe getting one apiece. St. Jean started, scattered five hits and struck out three in four innings, and Spenker tossed three innings of two-hit relief with four strikeouts.
