*On Tuesday night in Johnson City, at Thomas Stadium against University High, Caleb Royston collected his 40th career run batted in (RBI).
*In the "Coach Perkins Era" Caleb is second in career RBI behind his teammate, Morgan Lyons (58)! In that same time frame, McKinley Kuhn is 3rd in RBI with 37. These number are more impressive given the fact Kuhn and Lyons did not have an at-bat as sophomores, and Royston only had 12 at-bats in 2020. RBI is a team stat because runners have to be on base, but getting hits with men on base is a big key to winning baseball games.
*We featured an article about Collin Morgan's rebound 2022 season on Wednesday, April 21. Thinking along those same lines, we are also very happy for Brody Hicks. The junior lefty has tripled his 2021 hit total. Hicks has also showed improvement on the pitching mound, which he showed glimpses of in late 2021, so we are not surprised there. Brody is a hard working, tough, soft spoken, good dude.
Today, Thursday, April 21 we are slated to travel to the Mitchell County Mountaineers in a rematch from our March 29th clash.
