Bright Spots

Is the glass half full or half empty? For Bulldog Baseball the glass is half full, although we are aware of, and are working to correct, our deficits.
*Gavin Hardin has given us three consecutive quality appearances on the mound, a start vs. Providence, and two nice relief appearances against University High. He has displayed a nice breaking ball and got his fastball down in the zone.
*Although the results were not what he would have wanted, or anyone in the Bulldog Baseball family on Tuesday, Dru Owens has continued to improve as a pitcher as the season has went on. Tinkering with breaking ball grips, working multiple arm slots, different focuses during side sessions, Dru continues to work to be a pitcher who gives us lockdown innings in the postseason.
*Our pitching staff has picked at least one runner off in four consecutive games, including two on Tuesday, with one being on a reverse pivot spin at 2B from Gavin Hardin to Dru Owens at Shortstop. We are pleased with our pitching staff as it relates to holding runners and defending the running game.
*We are excited about the stick Gavin Hardin is swining as we begin to prep for the postseason.
*Dalton Rouse had a nice offensive game on Monday night, in addition to throwing quality pitches from the mound.
*Landen Street gives opposing pitchers fits, and he hustles down the line and makes every out a close play. Landen really battles in the box.
*We were pleased with the defensive game senior catcher, Brett Deaton had on Tuesday vs. University High.
*We travel to Johnson County on Thursay and host the Fellowship of Christian Athlete Flames at Scotty Bunton Field on Friday.
*The JV club travels to Chucky Doak on Saturday.
*We appreciate your support.
