2014 Strasburg Baseball Tournament Itinerary (as of March 8)

Friday March 28

• Dismissed at 11:00 (approved by Hafey;  players must contact teachers to get missing assignments)
• Bus departs outside GHS cafeteria at 11:10
• Stop at exit 222 in Staunton to eat lunch at Firehouse Subs at approximately 12:45 (need to depart by 1:15) – Firehouse address: 1028 Richmond Ave, Staunton (about 0.7 mile off Exit 222)
  • Exit 222; turn LEFT onto Bell Street, take 1^st RIGHT onto Alta Street, Alta Street turns RIGHT and becomes Powell Street, turn RIGHT onto Richmond Avenue, Firehouse Subs on right
• Exit 298 to check in at Fairfield Inn & Suites at 2:30 (call to make sure we can check in early)
  • May not have time to check in and unload bags; may need to have 1 coach do so while others go to field
• Depart from hotel at 3:00 dressed in uniform and travel to ballpark
• From hotel to ballpark:
  • Turn left out of parking lot toward downtown Strasburg
  • Take right on King at stop light
  • Take left on Holliday at stop light
  • Go past Strasburg HS
  • Go over bridge
  • Take a right at the second Stickley Road sign
  • Arrive at First Bank Park at Sandy Hook Elementary school
• Batting practice 3:15 – 3:45 in cages; Pre-Game on field 4:15-4:30
• Game vs. Moorefield @ 5:00
• Eat food (provided by tournament organizers) after game at field
• Watch part of second game: Strasburg vs. Page County
• Return to hotel
• Team Building activity @ announced time after returning to hotel
• Lights out / remain in room @ announced time after returning to hotel

• Saturday March 29
• 9:00 Team Building activity; free continental breakfast afterward
• 11:30 Check out in casual clothes (not in uniform)
• Drive to a site TBA for lunch 
• Depending on game time possible entertainment at site TBA
• Snack before game if playing championship game (2^nd game); site for snack TBA
• Be @ field for BP/warm-up by 2:30 for 4:00 game; 5:00 for 7:00 game (may start earlier)
• Play game @ ??? 4:00 (consolation game) or 7:00 (championship game)?
• Eat food (provided by tournament organizers)  after game at field
• Depart on bus and return to GHS
• Call parents on the way back to GHS to inform of arrival / pick-up time
