Fundraiser & Parent Meetings March 10

Parents & Players (please share this with your parents today),
On Monday, all 3 teams (Varsity, JV, and MS) will have a combined practice at the GHS field until 6:00.

The players will then meet in the GMS Forum for a players/coaches only meeting with our fundraiser contact and be given information regarding the fundraiser. This mandatory meeting will last until 7:30 and the players may not leave until the meeting concludes. This is the only planned fundraiser for our program and we hope the players (and in many cases, the parents :) can sell enough tickets to help us with our program needs. The baseball field and facility maintenance is very costly and we always have annual needs. We are in desperate need of new windscreen for the backstop /part of the outfield fence and for infield mix dirt. Other funds are needed for equipment, such as bats, catcher's gear, and training aids. Last year we were able to use the funds for the varsity's trip to the invitational Strasburg tournament and to pay for pre-game meals as the team advanced through the state tournament. We like to provide the players with nice equipment, playing field, and perks but these are only possible through this fundraiser. Please help us as we motivate the players to do their very best with sales of these tickets.

At 7:30 we will hold our parent's meeting in the Forum for Varsity and JV player's parents. At this meeting we will handout information to explain our policies and expectations for the season. We will also need the parents to sign the Roanoke County athletics policy. I don't anticipate this meeting lasting past 8:00. The GMS parent's meeting will be held in Room 142 (end of hallway that leads to the Aux.Gym.

Please contact me if you (the parents) cannot attend this meeting and I will email you the information. For those that have attended in the past, the meeting will be similar. I will "beg" for parents to head up some of the committees that are important to the success of our program. Also, please remember to share with me phone numbers and emails that you would like added to our contact list.
