CUBS WIN!!! 7-5 over Fort Sask in season opener!

The Cubs beat the Fort Saskatchewan Athletics for the 1st time in franchise history by a final score of 7-5. The Cubs improve to 1-0 on the season with Austin Penner getting the win (1-0) throwing 5 1/3 innings. Matt Courneya was deadly out of the pen holding the lead in his 2 2/3 innings of work. Hard throwing Steve Hogue came in and shut the door earning the Save.
Timely hitting was key for the Cubs in their victory. Lead by Derek Shedden who had 3 hits, 3 stolen bases and an rbi in the win
