Stark Down But Not Out Vs. Gibbon:
Things looked bleak for Stark as they saw themselves down 6 runs going into the home half of the 8th inning in their TEL matchup vs. Gibbon on Friday night in Stark, but the Longhorns were not to go down quietly as they mounted an epic comeback scoring 4 in the 8th and 3 more in the 9th to win a classic 10-9.  Stark would collect 7 hits in the final 2 innings as Jesse Fischer connected for a pair of doubles with the second being the game winner off Gibbon reliever Sam Van Hon with no one out in the ninth.  Scott Mathiowetz earned the win in relief of starter Brad Mathiowetz pitching the final three innings.  Jake Mangen had a monster game for the Longhorns as he went 4-4 with a pair of doubles and 4 runs scored.  Jesse Fischer added a pair of doubles and 3 RBI including the game winner.  The bottom of the lineup game up large for the Longhorns as the 6-9 batters in the order would collect 8 hits, 4 doubles, and would reach base safely in 14 out of their 19 plate appearances to lead the Longhorn offense.
9-5 overall; 7-4 TEL

Hanska Rains on Stark's Parade:
Stark's bats came into the game hot and for the second time this season were shut down by the Hanska Laker pitching staff as the Lakers would defeat the Longhorns 6-1 in big TEL contest.  The game was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th as a steady rain quickly turned into a downpour delaying the game for 45 minutes.  The Lakers took advantage of the delay and would score twice in both the bottom of the 6th and 7th to take a commanding lead and put the game out of reach.  Joey Wahl suffered the loss in relief of Craig Fischer as he pitched the final 3 innings.  Wahl supplied all the offense for Stark as he drove a ball well over the left field fence in the 2nd inning to give Stark an early 1-0 lead.
8-5 overall; 6-4 TEL

Missed Opportunities Cost Stark:
A failed suicide squeeze and a runner gun down at home plate proved to be Stark's downfall in a 3-1 loss to Essig on Sunday afternoon.  Adam Sellner was thrown out at home on a Cody Walter double and Bob Schmid was tagged out on a failed suicide squeeze attempt deflating any momentum that Stark had in the contest.  Craig Fischer suffered the loss as he pitched 8 innings allowing the three runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks.  Stark could only muster five hits in the contest with noone collecting more than one hit.
