Countdown to Vince Ballardo Memorial Tournament (Oct 17/09)

VINCE BALLARDO MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
10U, 11U, and 12U Divisions

Dates: October 17 - October 18, 2009.



San Marcos Baseball Club (SMBC) is hosting a Memorial Tournament for Vince Ballardo. Vince passed away on 8/22/09 (obituary). He had survived a battle against chronic myelogenous leukemia for the past 18 years. Vince was the owner of Coach & Play Team Sports in San Marcos. Vince loved sports and was very involved with the San Marcos youth sports community, as well as youth leagues across the country through his online store, TheCoachingStore.com.

Vince and his only son Blake have been a tremendous help to our SMBC teams and organization. All proceeds from this tournament will go directly towards the Blake Ballardo College Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.

$350 entry fee with a 3 game guarantee*
All game balls provided by SMBC
Up to a maximum of 8 teams per Division
* Checks made out to Blake Ballardo College Fund

Team Awards for Champions and Runner-Up in each Division
*If 8 teams in a division, will have American and National brackets following pool play with awards for both brackets

San Marcos Baseball Club (SMBC) offers local year round competitive baseball tournaments for San Diego and Orange County teams.

SMBC Tournaments provide a much more economical option for playing in San Diego area weekend baseball tournaments.

There are no gate fees or parking fees

SMBC leases their own fields which allows us to host tournaments for up to 1-2 divisions per weekend of play.
SMBC Tournament games played at SMBC (Oaks Christian Church) fields:
1915 N. Twin Oaks Valley Road
San Marcos, CA 92069
*Other San Marcos fields (Bradley Park, Hollandia Park and/or San Elijo Park) used as necessary.

Grass infields at our SMBC fields. Fields will be maintained and dragged before all tournament games.

A full barbeque snack bar is also available.

Batting cages are provided in the SMBC complex along with a warm-up area.
