DOGS' STRUGGLES CONTINUE
The Dogs woes continue as they had their hands full against the 1st place Ridge Meadows Royals. In Game 1 it was all Ridge as they scored 6 runs in the first two innings and made quick work of the Dogs scoring 7 more in the game shortened 5 inning 13-2 mercy rule defeat. In Game 2 the Dogs were able to keep themselves in the game a little longer being down 4-0 going into the 7th when Ridge broke it open with 4 more putting the game out of hand. The Dogs had as many hits (5) as Ridge but by giving up 10 walks and making 4 errors the Dogs never really gave themselves a chance.
The Dogs at 15-21 now find themselves in a battle with Chilliwack for the last and final spot for Provincials. Chilliwack with 10 games left to play and the Dogs with only 4 puts Chilliwack in a position to potentially pass the Dogs for the final birth which would make it the first time in the Dogs 10 year history that they would not make an appearance at a provincial.
The Dogs must now prepare for their 9th Annual Daley & Company Canada Day Classic when they open up against the Edmonton Cardinals Thursday 7pm at NorBrock. The full tournament schedule can be found under the handouts section.
