Three more Rangers sign Letters of Intent4/21/09

RANGER, TX - Three more Rangers have made their decisions official this week on where they will continue their college careers.  Outfielder Stuart MacInnes will take his .369 average and team leading 8 homeruns to Division 1 University of Texas at Pan American.  There he will rejoin former Ranger teammate Scott Wingo as they look to lead the Broncos to a successful year.  Also joining current teammate Nathan Hille is firstbaseman Zane Hensley as he will make the 40 mile trek to Tarleton State.  Zane is currently hitting .405 with 5 homeruns and 42 RBI.  For more on Zane's signing click here.  Finally Ranger leadoff hitter Ryan Hernandez has signed with University of Texas at Brownsville.  Ryan is leading the team in OBP (.507)and AVG (.413).

2009 Season Outlook 01/20/09

RANGER, TX - The 2009 Ranger College baseball team will try to rebound after an inconsistent  season last year. The crew that featured just 2 sophomore starters got off to a roaring start in conference sweeping Vernon. Then a disappointing split with NCTC led to a downward spiral in which the Rangers were never able to recover… Coach Harris points out that the team was just “unable to consistently make the routine play, make the big pitch, or get the big hit.” The team was very successful early in games only to continually squander leads and lose games very late.  Read More...

Hille Commits to Tarleton 11/25/08

RANGER, TX - Ranger College sophomore shortstop Nathan Hille has signed to continue his baseball career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.  Last season for the Rangers Hille hit .356 splitting time between shortstop and third base.  This year Hille should be a staple in the lineup and up the middle defensively.  Hille will bring a lot to the table for the Rangers this year, he is a long athletic shortstop whose defensive capabilities are irreplacable and his leadership is tremendous on and off the field.  Nathan will be a great fit for the Tarleton Texans next year.
