Please check the host web site on the westerns for all future information. Congratulations to all of the teams that participated in the peewee AAA tournament this weekend. A big congrats to Ladner who placed second and played very very well. I, your friendly neibourhood webmaster, had the priviledge of seeing a few of these games and if I didn't, I had people tell me all about them. The next game I watched was between Coquitlam Moody and Victoria. The game started off with a bang, Victoria's first batter hitting a long double to the centre field fence and then turning a double play when they were in the field. Coquitlam didn't lose hope or back down though, the game was well fought out but Victoria emerged victorious. The next game I saw was between Cloverdale and Victoria. The first inning contained #12 of Victoria hitting a deep home-run over the centre field fence. Cloverdale didn't lose hope though, a great pick off and some great batting put them back in the game and eventually in the lead. Victoria tried hard to get back in the lead but to no avail, Cloverdale won this one after losing to Ladner in a well fought game that I was unable to attend. The final game I attended was a match between Cloverdale and Coquitlam Moody. This game started off flow but quickly turned into an amazing contest with a grand slam from Coquitlam Moody's #31, who had a great game all around. This game had many great plays from both teams but eventually Coquitlam's bats beat out Cloverdale's defense and made Coquitlam the winners. This next section was written by Russ Conn, my dad who saw the games that I did not. So, credit where credit is due. "Game one Despite awesome pick off moves by Jordan along with fine defensive plays by the Sox's. It kept the game scoreless after 2. Then Ladner generated a single run off of a hit and run play in the 5th, but left the bases "Juiced" for a two one score after 5 for Victoria. But Ladner was forced to play catch up throughout the game to fall short 4/2. Game Two A rocky start in the first few inning prove to be too much for Ladner to mount any sort of come back despite rallying for six runs in the fifth to fall 19/11 LAdner was runner up."
