HOPE OF ANOTHER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DEVOURED BY WOLVES!
A hungry West Valley team ended the Demons hopes of a second Knox County Championship by defeating Halls 51-41. The Demons looked uninspired from the start but only found themselves down by five at intermission after shooting 33% from the field and committing 10 turnovers. Coach Warren rallied the troops during half-time and the game was notched at 35 a piece at the end of Q3. West Valley drained a few crutial 3 pointers down the stretch to hold off the Demons and advance to the next round. The Demons were led by their 2 All County League selections: Ross Cannon with 21 points and Dalton Keck with 13 points. SCORING: Cannon 21, Keck 13, Corcione 4, Fields 2, and Hall 1.
I know that the boys had high expectations for this year and are disappointed but 15 wins with only 5 losses is a great season. Finishing with 15 wins and a 2nd place finish in the league is a far cry from last year's season. Congratulations to the 2007-2008 Halls Middle School Basketball Team and good luck to the 8th graders.
