BLACKSOX LOSE 4 IN A ROW
Freeman has dropped four games in a row and they now have a record of 5-11 overall and 2-4 in league play.

FREEMAN MOVES TO 2-1 IN LEAGUE PLAY
SCOTLAND-The Freeman Blacksox moved their league record to 2-1 (5-7 overall) on Sunday night with a 10-0 seven inning victory over Scotland.  Although Freeman only had 5 hits, they benefited from 12 Scotland walks.  Austin Smidt had two hits with Brett Scherschligt, Dustin Tschetter,and Josh Krull each had one.  Allan Scherschligt picked up the complete game win allowing 4 hits and striking out 10. 

FREEMAN LOSES 3 IN MILLER
MILLER-Freeman played in the Outlaw Invitational this past weekend in Miller.  Four Corners, Clark, and Dell Rapids Mudcats all posted wins against the Blacksox.  Four Corners won 16-1 with Al Haar taking the loss for Freeman.  Clark won 4-1 with Eric Hortness taking the loss.  Dell Rapids Mudcats won 12-2 with Brett Scherschligt taking the loss.  On the weekend, the Blacksox recorded only 14 hits in the three games as the offense continues to struggle.  The lone bright spot for Freeman was Seth Sayler.  He went 4-4 with 4 walks and a HBP in the three games.  Freeman's record is now at 3-6 and 0-1 in league play.  Next up will be a Tuesday night game in Freeman against the Sioux Falls Saints at 7:30.

BLACKSOX DROP LEAGUE OPENER
CROFTON-Freeman travelled to Crofton, NE for the opening night of South Central League play on Thursday night.  The Blacksox were defeated 11-0 in a shortened 7 inning contest.  Austin Smidt took the loss for Freeman.  At the plate, Eric Hortness had 2 singles.  Derek Wieman and Derek Waltner had the other two hits for Freeman. 

FREEMAN SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER
FREEMAN-Dimock/Emery and the Parkston Mudcats suffered defeats at the hands of the Blacksox on Sunday evening.  In both games the Blacksox got good pitching, timely hitting, and came from behind for the two wins.  Against Dimock/Emery, Eric Hortness tossed a complete game.  He gave up 4 runs (1 earned) on six hits.  He walked 0 and struck out 4.  At the plate, Garrett Gross had 2 singles.  In game two, Josh Krull hit a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning to give Freeman the lead.  Drue Aman started on the mound and went 4 innings.  Allan Scherschligt picked up the win in relief.  Krull finished with 2 hits.  Gross and Al Haar also had two hits.  Next up is the South Central League opener in Crofton, NE.  First pitch is at 7:30.

MONTROSE TOPS FREEMAN
MONTROSE-The Freeman Blacksox dropped a 9-0 decision to Montrose on Tuesday night.  Allan Scherschligt took the loss on the mound.  At the plate, the Blacksox were only able to manage 6 hits.  Austin Smidt and Josh Krull each collected two hits.  Freeman will next be in action on Sunday at home at 5 and 7 pm.

BLACKSOX GO 1-1 ON OPENING DAY
EMERY-Freeman lost to the Parkston Rock Bass 2-1 and then defeated Canistota 17-4 in the second game of the day.  In game 1, Geoffrey Pfeiffer had two hits and Derek Waltner had one.  Jay Kirsch was the tough luck loser.  He gave up two runs on 4 hits, struck out 2 and walked 1.  In the second game, Garrett Gross and Lance Edwards each had two hits.  Drue Aman collected the win on the mound.
