Four Cardinals Help Clinton Valley Win District 6
Monday night the Clinton Valley American team had a chance to be the first Clinton Valley team to ever win a district championship. They had a tough Grosse Pointe team standing in their way. Grosse Pointe defeated Clinton Valley earlier in the tounament 13-5. But in a 4-2 game in the 5th inning, Kurt Fix crushes a 2-run big fly into left center field. Ryan Napoli pitched 4 innings and recorded 5 K's and 2 earned runs. Then coach Frank Fahey turned to his other Cardinal pitcher Nick Buckler to close out the game and he picked up a 3 inning save. He recorded 5 K's in 3 innings of work and didn't give up a run. The final out of the game was a dramatic over the shoulder diving back handed catch, and then the celebration started. Clinton Valley won 6-2. Now they will play the District 7 champion St. Clair team at St. Clair High School on Friday at 6 pm in game 1 of the best of 3 series. Winner goes to Portage and is in the Final 8 in states.

Mcelhaney agrees to deal with Cardinals
7/14/07- Inside sources say that the Cardinals have signed former Braves infielder Justin Mcelhaney to a 1 year deal. This should fill the hole of their infielding needs after losing 3rd baseman Chris Shyulski. He adds a veteran glove to an already veteran team. Look out for the Cardinals next season.

Cardinals All Stars Named
6/27/07- This past Tuesday CVLL All Star manager Frank Fahey annouced his players for this years All Star tournament. Amongst these players there were 3 Cardinals named to the club. Slugger and outfielder Kurt Fix, pitcher Nick Buckler, and pitcher Ryan Napoli. The tournament starts July 10th, and is at Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods. Good Luck!
